Vacancy Prayer

Dear Lord, as we journey together during this extended period of vacancy,

anchor us in the certainty of knowing that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Renew our spirit with your strength and unite us in our love for one another.

Sustain us if we fall and surround us with your grace.

Uphold all those who share responsibility for our church and community during these challenging times.

Let your steadfast presence give us encouragement to continue, in the hope

that our new priest will be willing to serve us with joy, to build us in faith and

to lead us by example.

Grant us strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.             Amen.
