Funerals

A funeral is used to mark the end of a person's life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, celebrate and give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God's keeping.

These can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a packed church.

At St James the Great Church Bierton, we work with the bereaved and the funeral directors to arrange an appropriate service following the death of a loved one. The options broadly are to have a service in Church followed by a burial or cremation; to go straight to the Crematorium with a memorial service in Church later or simply to have a service at the Crematorium.

check if you live within our Parish.

Please Note that "A Church Near You" Website gives a quick access to churches and services in the locality,

but it is not a legal record of boundaries.

Broughton Crossing is no longer in our Parish, but is now part of the Parish of Broughton.

To arrange a funeral service please first contact your chosen funeral director who will then liaise with us

to arrange a suitable date and time.

The Vicar will then contact the bereaved family to arrange an appointment to meet and discuss the funeral service.
