Church Primary Schools in Our Parish
Bierton CofE Primary School
This is a Church of England VC Combined School in Bierton, and the church is represented by two Diocesan Foundation Governors. There are at present 280 pupils from reception to year 6. The School is held in very high regard, applications for admission always exceed the number available. The last Ofsted Report proclaimed it 'a very good school'. The school is actively encouraged to use St James the Great Church Bierton as a teaching and collective worship resource. They now hold their Harvest Festival Services in church. It is desirable that in the future, the Vicar should be actively involved with the Governors and build upon existing links with our school. Buckingham Park CofE Primary School
This is a Church of England VA Primary School in Buckingham Park, on the northern edge of Aylesbury. As this school is voluntary aided the majority of its governors are Diocesan Foundation Governors with the Vicar of St James the Great Church being an ex-officio member of the Governing Body. The school opened in September 2012 and when full will have just under 500 pupils and has a nursery. It is already building an excellent reputation as a school and has recently undergone its first Ofsted inspection and was found to be a good school. From the beginning, links have been encouraged with St James the Great Church Bierton and pupils visit the church. It is hoped that the Vicar would take Collective Worship every other week in the school. More information about the school can be found by visiting www.buckinghampark.bucks.sch.uk
